Apple has hired Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts as senior vice president of retail and online stores, the company has announced. It is a newly created position that will report directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Ahrendts' duties will include overseeing the "strategic direction, expansion and operation" of Apple retail and online stores. She will assume the new position in the spring.
