This week prospective Tesla buyers were hit with a sudden price hike, with one model suddenly becoming $10,000 more expensive.

Tesla's pricing for its electric vehicles fluctuate constantly, with little warning. Earlier this week, prices went up for certain versions of the Model Y, Model 3, and Model S. Only prices for the Model X remained the same.

It can be hard to keep up with the changes. Less than a month ago, base prices dropped for the Model 3 and Y.

The Model S Plaid+ experienced the largest price hike. It’s Tesla’s most premium car, with an expected range of more than 520 miles. It should ship in the middle of 2022. Before, it was $139,990. Now it’s $149,990.

Other price changes first spotted by Reuters include the Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which is listed for $37,490, up from $36,990. The Model 3 Long Range AWD and the Model Y Long Range became $1,000 more expensive, now starting at $46,490 and $49,990, respectively.

The price of the "budget" Model 3 has bounced around a lot since the car’s arrival in 2017. It hit Musk’s promised price of $35,000 in February 2019, but that was fleeting. Last week, it was $36,990. Now it’s $37,490.

Last year, Musk teased the idea of a $25,000 Tesla. Don't hold your breath.
