Landscape with Invisible Hand might just be one of the greatest movies of this summer

Based on M.T. Anderson's novel of the same name, the film is set in an alien-occupied Earth where a species called the Vuvv rule over humanity. From taking over jobs to constantly orbiting above them in the sky, the Vuvv have made it difficult for humans to lead a prosperous life — that is until 17-year-old Adam (Asante Blackk) and Chloe (Kylie Rogers) find a loophole.

As the pair's crushes on each other blossom into a relationship, Adam and Chloe realize that they have one thing the aliens covet — love, and the Vuvv are willing to spend hefty amounts of cash to watch them fall into it. So they decide to livestream their budding romance, earning enough income to help their families, but it isn't all rainbows and butterflies with teen angst ultimately clashing with the aliens' watch-party.

Landscape with Invisible Hand also stars Tiffany Haddish. The film releases in theaters on August 18.
