Mouse Rat from 'Parks and Recreation' finally dropped a music video for their Li'l Sebastian tribute

It's been 10 whole years since we lost the beloved and majestically hooved Pawnee town mascot, miniature horse Li'l Sebastian, and we still miss you in the saddest fashion.

It's been as long since Mouse Rat's iconic performance of "5,000 Candles in the Wind ('Bye Bye Li'l Sebastian'), played at his memorial in Season 3, episode 16 of Parks and Recreation, aired on May 19, 2011.

And now, folks of Pawnee, Chris Pratt's Andy Dwyer has got the band back together and Mouse Rat has finally released an official music video for the song, complete with fireworks, cursive lyrics, and just a whole lot of emotion. The news was announced, of course, by perpetually on-the-pulse Pawnee news anchor Perd Hapley. It's the first time we've heard the forever ballad in full form since the Parks and Rec cast reunited to sing it in 2020 over Zoom.

But there's even bigger news. Mouse Rat are also finally ready to release their debut album, The Awesome Album, on Aug. 27 with a big-time featured artist on the bill: the one and only Duke Silver (Nick Offerman's Ron Swanson's musical alter ego). Songs will include the iconic song above, along with "The Pit," and "Sex Hair." It'll be released through DualTone and Entertainment 720 (the fictional company created by Aziz Ansari's Tom Haverford). You can preorder the album here.

I guess the headlines remain accurate to this day: "Little horse [still] is big deal."
