Amber Ruffin wrote a whole "Amber Says What" segment for Late Night with Seth Meyers before the election. And now, she's leaning on "inspirational Instagram quotes" to get through it.

The Amber Ruffin Show comedian and Late Night favourite appeared on Tuesday's show to recap the news starting with the story a while back about Olivia Rodrigo falling through a hole in the stage. "You know who also fell into a hole? America," Ruffin says, staring into the distance.

"I'm sorry Seth, I'm usually pretty positive but this time I don't think I can muster it," says Ruffin, reading one last quote that's not the jokey "hang in there" quotes she'd previously been reading out.

"In times like these, our communities must stand together. White, Black, Latinx, LGBTQ+, minorities, all of us. This election was terrible, but it has the power to unite us all, and we are so very capable. It's in times like these I'm happy I grew up Black in America because if I did that, I know I can do anything," she says.

"Aww. Wise words from ButtSniffer72," Ruffin ends with.

"Amber!!!" cries Meyers.
