With Nintendo kicking off its live Direct event, the gaming giant is giving a first glimpse into its much-anticipated 2025-2026 lineup, finally announcing an official release date for the new Switch 2.

Along with confirmations of expected game releases, like the latest entry in the Mario Kart lineup, Nintendo had a few surprises up its sleeve, including a new multiplayer RPG from Dark Souls and Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. Titled The Duskbloods, the steampunk fantasy game promises a lot of lore and an action-packed lineup of monsters.

Assuming the role of some kind of vampire-like creature, players navigate a combat-filled, industrialized city and a myriad of foes, including a nightmare sewer creature, a suite of evil-looking weaponed opponents, and what appears to be a shapeshifting dinosaur. Don't worry: Guns exist in this universe, too.

The game's moonlight-dependent characters and monster transformations reminded many fans of the popular 2015 Bloodborne, another FromSoftware game which features Lovecraftian horrors and an atmospheric Victorian-inspired city setting. Bloodborne 2 might not be happening, but now we have The Duskbloods.

The game will be exclusive to the Switch 2 and is expected to release in 2026.
